Shots fired directly back from Jay Z at Drake (aka Mrs Drizzy according to Jay Z) this was caused by a month ago in a Rolling Stone article about his fellow rapper’s use of art in lyrics:
“It’s like Hov can’t drop bars these days without at least four art references… I would love to collect [art] at some point, but I think the whole Rap/art world thing is getting kind of corny.”
The Magna Carta rapper released a verse on Jay Electronica’s new track on March 23 entitled “We Made It.” In response.
“Sorry Mrs. Drizzy for so much art talk. Silly me, rappin’ ’bout sh*t that I really bought – while these rappers rap about guns that they ain’t shot – and a bunch of other silly sh*t that they ain’t got.”
Since Kendrick’s (Kendrick Lamar’s Control verse of calling out artists) Hip-Hop is starting to regain the important element of battle rap which hasn’t been so prominent in recent times.
Jay z has made a statement with this in terms of telling Drake not to step out of line.
Will Drake respond? In our opinion he will as he clearly believes he has a foothold in the game, let’s wait and see .
